Elizabeth City man facing charges for promoting prostitution

Officers from the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations (SBI), Pasquotank County Sheriff’s Office, Dare County Sheriff’s Office and Elizabeth City Police Department conducted an investigation resulting in the arrest of an Elizabeth City man for promoting prostitution, according to a press release from the Pasquotank County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation revealed that John “Goodwrench” Reynolds, 62, was using his residence to promote prostitution, stated the release. Officers executed a search warrant in the 500 block of Lane Street in Elizabeth City on March 9, 2023. Numerous items were seized as evidence, including various electronic devices such as laptops, Chromebooks and cellular phones, according to the release.

Reynolds was arrested on six counts of promoting prostitution, a class E felony. Reynolds was confined in Albemarle District Jail under a $200,000 secured bond. “The case will be reviewed by the District Attorney’s Office and the United States Attorney’s Office where Reynolds is liable to face additional state and/or federal charges,” stated the release.
