Kill Devil Hills man arrested on drug charges following traffic stop

The Dare County Sheriff’s Office is reporting the arrest of a Kill Devil Hills man on drug charges following a traffic stop.

Accoridng to a DCSO press release, on April 11, 2023 at approximately 1:15 a.m., seputies working the A-District conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on NC Hwy 158 near the Walmart in Kitty Hawk.

“While the Deputies were dealing with the violation they could see drug paraphernalia in plain view,” stated the release. “The vehicle was searched and an amount of Methamphetamine, Drug Paraphernalia and THC pens were located and seized.”

Darrell Benjamin Brafford, 27, of Kill Devil Hills, was arrested and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of schedule VI controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Brafford was given a $15,000 secured bond.
