The Outer Banks Association of REALTORS® (OBAR) held its annual charity bowling tournament themed “Boots & Bling” last month and once again, the event was sold out.

OBAR has announced that approximately $7,000 was raised for OBAR’s Disaster Relief and Scholarship funds held with the Outer Banks Community Foundation.

“The Association would like to thank the teams, attendees, those that donated raffle prizes, and OBX Bowling Center in Nags Head for making this happen,” stated an OBAR press release. “Special thanks to the Bowling Committee: Chair Carrie Bateman, Vice Chair Tiffany Moldovan, and members Brenda Davis-Williams, Tricia Driscoll, Kelle Moore, LeAnne Wiggins, and Joanna Tucker.”

“It was a great night, and everyone had fun,” said Bateman, OBAR property management director and bowling chair. “I am so excited and grateful that we surpassed the amount we raised last year by $2,000, which will go to our Scholarship and Disaster Relief funds that are available to all OBX residents.”

Team “The Wild West,” sponsored by Steven Gillis State Farm Insurance and Rocket Mortgage, led by team leader Judy Reynolds, took first place with a score of 2097. Team “Dangling Diamonds,” led by team leader Dawn Midgette, won the popular spirit award. Team “Rocket Mountain Oysters,” led by team leader Steven Gillis was a close second for spirit. Susie Sullivan won the grand pre-raffle prize. The grand prize included a weekend staycation in Nags Head and a $100 gift card to Blue Moon Beach Grill.
