The fifth annual OBX Rod and Custom Festival was held May 5 and 6 at the Soundside Event site in Nags Head. The event is planned and promoted by a locally owned charity group, Garage Band Charities, Inc.

More than 900 cars were registered for the event. Activities included static car show displays at the site, a group mystery cruise each evening, a police escorted cruise on the beach road from Kitty Hawk to Nags Head, a poker run and a scavenger hunt.

Participants were able to leave the site and cruise to local sites and businesses. Several retail vendors and local food vendors were also on site.
