December 22, 1948 – May 30, 2023

Judy Doris (Callahan) Midgette, 74, passed away in her sleep on Tuesday, in Virginia Beach, VA, following health complications. She loved fiercely as a wife, a mother, grandmother known as “Nanna”, sister, and friend, having a style all of her own. After moving to Buxton, NC in 1986, she greatly enjoyed working in local restaurants as a cook. She has fondly been described as a spit-fire by those who spent time with her. She and Bobby found joy in renovating the island home where he had grown up. Homemaking was a treasured skill at which she excelled. She easily made gatherings of family and friends comfortable with open invitations for homemade meals, playing cards, and visiting on the porch.

She is predeceased by her husband, Robert W “Bobby” Midgette Sr., and her daughter, Sharon Lynn (Midgette) Powers, both whom she had missed very much. She was further predeceased by her parents, James Norman and Linda Mae (Gentry) Callahan; sisters, Shirley Augustine and Lillian Midgette; and brother, Joseph Callahan.
