Provisional pot areas now open

North Carolina Marine Fisheries Proclamation PT-2-2023 describes areas open to crab, eel, fish and shrimp pots in the provisional pot areas of the Pamlico Sound and Pamlico, Bay and Neuse Rivers not being utilized by long haul operations.

This proclamation became effective June 1, 2023 and will expire at 11:59 p.m., Nov. 30, 2023, unless superseded by another proclamation.

Pots may be set in the areas listed below and described in Marine Fisheries Commission rules and shown in maps that were issued with the proclamation.

Hyde County Bays: Wysocking Bay, Lone Tree Creek; Wysocking Bay, Mt. Pleasant Bay; Juniper Bay, Swanquarter Bay, Deep Cove, Rose Bay, Spencer Bay

Pamlico River: Lee Creek, Huddy Gut, Indian Island, Old Field Point, Goose Creek

Pamlico County Bays: Big Porpoise Bay, Middle Bay, Jones Bay, Bay Point

Bay River: Rockhole Bay, Hogpen Creek, Fisherman Bay

Neuse River: Swan Creek, Gum Thicket Shoal, Orchard Creek, Pine Cliff Recreation Area
