Through Aug. 15, 2024, the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau will accept event grant applications for its next award cycles. Only Dare County non-profits and governmental units are eligible to apply.
Event Grant Applications – This grant program is to help create and support events that drive overnight visitation to the Outer Banks in less-than-peak months, which are Sept. 7 to June 15. Event grants must be applied for at least four months in advance of the event. All events grants are disbursed on a reimbursement basis. Grant dollars can be used for marketing, infrastructure, entertainment and t-shirts.
Tourism Impact Grants – From Sept. 1 to Sept. 30, 2024, the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau will accept applications for Tourism Impact Grants (TIG). This grant is designed to help governmental units and nonprofit organizations located in Dare County with programs or services needed due to the impact of tourism. All TIG grants are disbursed on a reimbursement basis. Awards over $50,000 require a match. Rules and qualifications are spelled out online. All TIG applicants must contact the grant administrator prior to submitting an application to describe the project and determine eligibility.
Those with questions should call Diane Bognich, grant administrator, 473-2138 or email bognich@outerbanks.org.
