James B. Groff, CAPT, CEC, USN (Ret.), 92, of Southern Shores, died July 31, 2024. Jim was born June 17, 1932 in Buffalo, NY. He was a veteran of the Navy.

Funeral liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. on August 12 at Holy Redeemer By-the-Sea Catholic Church, Kitty Hawk. Capt. Groff will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Outer Banks Relief Foundation (OBRF) or Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
