Kai Reece, a recent graduate of First Flight High School, has been named to the 2023-2024 High School Scholar All-Americans Team by United Soccer Coaches. Reece is one of just 109 student-athletes nationwide to receive this honor, announced on July 31, 2024.
“This accolade recognizes exceptional achievements in both academics and athletics throughout a student-athlete’s secondary school career. Reece distinguished himself with an outstanding 4.33 GPA while excelling as a midfielder, playing a crucial role in the Nighthawks’ triumphant 3A state championship win in November 2023,” stated a news release from Dare County Schools.
“We are very proud of his accomplishments. Kai represents what a student-athlete is all about,” said Juan Ramirez, First Flight High School men’s soccer coach and math teacher.
“Kai represents exactly what you want in a student athlete,” added Chad Williams, First Flight High School’s athletic director. “He is a hard worker both on the field and in the classroom and always respectful and kind. On the field, he is a highly skilled incredible player. I could not be more proud and they could not have found a more deserving player.”
