Patricia Brown Dudley, 70, of Norfolk departed this life on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 after a brief illness but shall live on through the hearts and memories of the many lives she touched.

Patricia was born in Bradford, Tennessee on November 9, 1953 to her loving parents Bernice “Buster” B. Brown and Helen Hall Brown. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Clinton L. Dudley, two brothers, Donald Scott Brown and John Thomas Brown III and a son Daryl Craig Johnson.

Patricia is survived by son Thomas “Scottie” Johnson of Norfolk and Jennifer “Jenni” Johnson Camden (Ken) of Gastonia, NC, four grandchildren Taylor (Selin) Midgett, Logan Midgett, Dylan Johnson and Bailey Camden, two great grandchildren Brody Taylor Midgett and Evelynn Rose Midgett. Also surviving are two brothers Robert Brown of Hampton and Danny (Kitty) Brown of Virginia Beach, two sisters Deborah Brown of Norfolk and Sheryl Anderson of Chesapeake, step daughter Angie (Jeff) Foster of Moyock, NC as well as many special nieces and nephews whom she loved & adored.

Patricia was an extraordinary lady, considerate, selfless and loving not only to her family but to the many surrogate souls that she helped raise and nurture throughout her life.

Patricia spent over 15 years working with the Dare County School System working as a bus driver at Kitty Hawk Elementary School where she formed many life-long friendships and many children who will remember her.  Upon moving back to Norfolk, VA she was a dedicated employee and volunteer of the Salvation Army where she served for over 25 years. She loved her job, admired the work of the Salvation Army, treasured her co-workers including her closest friend Gladys.

A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held on Saturday, August 31 at 1 p.m. the Salvation Army Kroc Center at 1401 Ballentine Blvd., Norfolk.
