Cape Hatteras volleyball plays in state tourney

Cape Hatteras Secondary varsity volleyball team competed in the first round of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state playoffs. The Lady Hurricanes confronted Wake Prep Academy from Wake Forest in the Buxton gymnasium.
Wake Prep took all three sets though the first two were very close.
In the first set, Wake Prep won 28 to 26 with Cape Hatteras tying the score four times. In the second, the score was 25-23 with Cape Hatteras coming from a six-point deficit to score 23.
The Cape Hatteras Hurricanes finished the season with a 15 and 7 record and tied for first place in the conference with a 9 and 1 record.
