On Oct. 30, 2024, around 8:45 p.m., a man was walking his two dogs in Kitty Hawk. He was crossing U.S. 158 at White Street when he and his dogs were struck by a Honda Accord, which was travelling southbound. The man was hit by another vehicle, a minivan.

Michael Lamb, 43, Durham, and his two dogs were pronounced dead at the scene.

The drivers of the Honda Accord and the minivan are cooperating in the Kitty Hawk Police Department investigation which is ongoing. No charges have been filed.
