On Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, a large black bear walked through the middle of a flock of tundra swans. A conspicuous addition to the pond, at least during this photo session, the bear did not bother the swans. It waded through the flock until it came to what looked like a dead great blue heron and began feeding.
