The new executive director of The Elizabethan Gardens, Brendan Medlin, has announced Camellia Tours during the month of February at The Elizabethan Gardens.
The guided Camellia Tours will run every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday in February at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
“Discover the fascinating world of Camellia plants with our 45-minute Camellia Garden Tour. This guided tour will give you insider information about Camellias, their uses in everyday life, and a chance to taste tea made from the Gardens’ Camellia plants,” stated the announcement of the tours. “The program will end at the nursery where you can purchase your own Camellia plant.”
“The expansive and historic Camellia collection is impressive, and our nursery has worked hard to provide classic and uncommon varieties for sale,” said Dan Hossack, Gardens manager. “Please join us to celebrate warmer days and brighter blooms throughout the month of February.”
The Elizabethan Gardens reopened to the public February 1, 2025 and “welcomes you to tour the Gardens, discover the beautiful Camellias as well as shop our nursery and gift shop,” noted the announcement.
“What a wonderful time to visit our Gardens! We are thrilled to reopen and share the Elizabethan Gardens with our members and visitors,” said Medlin.
The Elizabethan Gardens is located on the north end of Roanoke Island at 1411 National Park Drive. For more information, call 252-473-3234 or got to elizabethangardens.org.
