Dr. Robert A. Bock, born November 15, 1931, aged 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2025, in Cary, NC.
A devoted father to Alecia Bock Williams and Andrea Bock, Robert leaves behind three cherished grandchildren: Jaxon (24), Savannah (22) and Roscoe (15).
A graduate of Georgetown University Dental School, Robert practiced dentistry in Rockville, MD, until his retirement. In 1988, he moved full-time to the Outer Banks, where he embraced his love of golf as a member of Duck Woods Country Club in Kitty Hawk. Robert was also an avid bridge player, enjoyed gardening, meticulously maintained his beautiful lawn, and loved sailing around Kitty Hawk Bay in front of his home.
He was an active member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, where he volunteered his time driving cancer patients to their treatments from the Outer Banks, taking the time to engage with them during the long journeys.
Above all, Robert’s love for his daughters and grandchildren was immeasurable. He also had a deep affection for dogs, who often found their way to his home for belly rubs or treats. He was known for his kindness and enjoyed his visits with his family. He also enjoyed spending time in local thrift shops, always in search of a hidden treasure or a great deal.
Robert passed peacefully, surrounded by his beloved daughters. His infectious smile and warm, friendly spirit will be missed by all who knew him, especially his family. We will forever hold his memory in our hearts. Rest in peace Doc.
