Homecoming at Cape Hatteras Secondary is usually a full week of spirit activities.
That special week was scheduled for the week of snow. So Spirit Day was on that Monday and homecoming activities were rescheduled to the week of Feb. 3.
On Monday, Feb. 3, the traditional pep rally was held.
On Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025, the Homecoming Court was presented after the basketball games with Mattamuskeet before a nice crowd. The Homecoming Dance is now scheduled for Feb. 15.
Homecoming events are organized by the Cape Hatteras Student Government Association. Class representatives are selected by classes. The entire student body votes for the three royal couples.
At the court presentation, senior Kristin Bennett and junior Owen Austin presided. The pair introduced these couples:
Freshmen: Carson McKnew and Ari Stowe
Sophomores: Landen Sonnier and Paizley Shultz; Liam Van Druten and Kyndle Stowe
Juniors: Joey Lettieri and Gabby Baker; Zeke Willis and Estrella Olan-Campos; Jude Wright and Eryn Ratliff
Seniors: Ben Kulick and Kirra Ensenat; Jonas Eatmon and Madison Fiscus; Thomas Gwin and Gracie Fuller; and Colin Midgett and Audrey Kramer.
The presenters then opened envelopes with the voting results.
Selected as duke and duchess were freshman Carson McKnew and senior Audrey Kramer.
Selected as prince and princess were seniors Colin Midgett, college bound in the fall, and Madison Fiscus will attend St. Andrews University and play beach volleyball for the school.
Selected as king and queen were seniors Jonas Eatmon, who hopes to have his own photography business, and Gracie Fuller, who will finish her associate degree in May, plans to continue to a career in mechanical prosthetic engineering with a focus on neuroscience.
