Cold doesn’t slow these otters down

It’s chilly this time of year at Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, but the cold doesn’t slow down this group of river otters.

They were swimming through chunks of river ice recently.

Even in the cold and ice, otters still need to eat and there are plenty of fish year ’round in the refuge waters to take care of this group.
