Beaufort County Community College (Beaufort CCC) has announced its top-tier ranking in the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) for persistence and progression metrics. For the most recent cohort, Beaufort CCC ranked first among community colleges in North Carolina of similar size and 10^th among all 58 NCCCS colleges statewide.

The college achieved 76.7% in NCCCS’ Persistence/Progression measure, surpassing the statewide average of 70.1%. This metric highlights the percentage of first-time fall credential-seeking curriculum students who either graduate before the subsequent fall term or continue their education by enrolling at a university.

Persistence and progression are key indicators of a college’s effectiveness in supporting students. They measure how well institutions help students overcome obstacles to continue their education, gain essential skills, and achieve their goals. These metrics also reflect a college’s commitment to academic excellence and student success, fostering confidence among students, employers, and the community.
