Rebecca “Becky” Jean Riffe Bowman, 60, of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 1, 2025. She was born on October 31, 1964, in South Charleston, WV, and was the daughter of Franklin Delano Riffe and Norma Jean Hartley Riffe.
Becky grew up in Spring Hill and was a 1983 graduate of South Charleston High school. After graduation, she moved to the Outer Banks, where she was the best mom ever to her children, and where she spent the rest of her life working hard and caring for everyone more than herself.
She was predeceased by her parents and her son, George Bowman Jr., and brother-in-law, Michael Blake.
She leaves behind her daughter, Megan Jean Bowman of South Charleston; sons, Justin Bowman of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Aaron Bowman of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and her grandson, Jay (Booger Boo) Hendrickson of South Charleston. Also surviving are her siblings: Catherine Shriver (Ted), Libby Blake, Dennie Riffe, (Sandra Childress); nephews, Joshua Shriver (Nikki), Michael Blake II (Amanda); great nieces and nephews, Mathen Kelley, Jaycee Kelley, Maddox Ray, Dorothy-Jean Catherine Shriver, and Andy Blake.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 15, 2025, from 2-4 p.m. at St. Andrew’s By-The-Sea Episcopal Church, Nags Head, NC.
