The North Carolina Education Lottery has reported a quarter of a million dollar win by an eastern NC man.
David Harvard, of Greenville, wanted to immediately tell someone after a $5 scratch-off turned into a $250,000 top prize.
“I called my mom first screaming that I won,” Harvard recalled.
He bought his lucky 20X The Cash scratch-off from the Speedway on West Fire Tower Road in Winterville.
“It’s really a blessing,” Harvard said.
After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $179,376.
Harvard plans to use some of his winnings to buy a new truck.
The 20X The Cash game debuted in February 2024 with 10 $250,000 top prizes. One $250,000 prize remains to be claimed.
