Outer Banks Health has announced the winner of the 2024 Horizon Award for Physician of the Year – Erin Baker, DO, of Outer Banks Health Family Medicine – Manteo.

“Dr. Baker is all-around amazing,” stated the announcement of her award. “She is intelligent, kind, caring, and compassionate. She takes time to address her patients’ concerns and works with them to brainstorm solutions. She ensures that they understand the information discussed during their appointment.

“Dr. Baker has a gift for treating the whole person and goes the extra mile to seek out the proper care,” the announcement continued.

In addition to her position at the practice, Baker also serves as the medical director for the Community Care Clinic of Dare. “Her devotion to the community is unparalleled,” stated the award announcement. “She inspires people to want to improve their health and is truly a gift to the Outer Banks community.”

The award recognizes the “outstanding efforts and dedication of our providers who achieve our mission of enhancing the quality of life for the residents and visitors of Dare County. The selection criteria included team member and patient experience, quality initiatives, leadership and mentoring, as well as community involvement,” stated OBH. “This year, we received over 40 nominations. Congratulations Dr. Baker!”
