Eighth grade students from Manteo Middle School competed at the Northeast Regional Science Fair held Saturday, February 15 at East Carolina University.

Seven students earned awards at the event; five were invited to the state competition.

Participants and winners were:

Hannah Labrada and Lilly Tongue: 1st place in Earth Environmental

George Perrot and Benjamin Zadd: 1st place in Engineering

Aniyah Gibbs: 2nd Pplace in Math and Statistics

Lucas Bailey: 3rd place in Math and Statistics

Skylynn Willis: Participant in Chemistry

Additionally, Parker Price won 1st place for the “One Water” Award, while George Perrot and Benjamin Zadd won 2nd place for the same award.

All first and second category winners have been invited to the state competition at NC State University.
