Second quarter awards ceremony at Wanchese Christian Academy was held on Wednesday, February 5 during the school’s annual Spiritual Emphasis Week. The school celebrated past accomplishments of perfect attendance, AB Honor Roll and A Honor Roll. The audience cheered and took pictures throughout the acknowledgements of the students.

The castle decorations, costumes, student artwork and energy of the week’s Spiritual Emphasis was led by Bridget Reynolds. The students led daily in energized action songs, games rhyme and verse were announced to encourage them to be as the castle theme suggest, Kingdom Keepers.

“With daily guest speakers the armor of God from key verse Ephesians 6:10-11 was emphasized. Throughout the week offerings were collected as a competition between the blue and red teams to aid western North Carolina hurricane victims,” stated WCA. “Shout out to the high school student knights that assisted. This was such a special week with many highlights – the awards ceremony being one.”

The following students were recognized for their perfect attendance and accelerated grades: 

Perfect Attendance – Vela Grace Etheridge, Shane Reynolds, Saylor Callum, Salter Cordeiro, Ryland Daniels, Penelope Wells, Noah Cordeiro, Mary Grace Strum, Lily Hooper, Joshua Pettit, Isla Cordeiro, Hank Reynolds, Gina Stevens, Annabelle Stevens and Addison Wells

AB Honor Roll – Noah Cordeiro, Kennedy Daniels, Mazie Dolan, Vela Grace Ethridge, Andrew Godwin, Lily Hooper, Hank Reynolds, Zoey Ross, Alex Stevens, Gina Stevens and Penelope Wells
