UPDATED: Teen missing from Kill Devil Hills found in Missouri

UPDATE: The Kill Devil Hills Police Department has reported that on Monday, March 17, 2025 at around 12:30 p.m., Christian Jenkins, 16, was located safe in Missouri with his dog and truck. Jenkins left his residence Saturday afternoon and there had been reported sightings of his truck in western North Carolina and Tennessee on Sunday.
“The Kill Devil Hills Police Department would like to thank the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D Troopers and Communications for their assistance,” stated a KDHPD news release.
“The Department appreciates the media’s and public’s understanding about the sensitive nature of this investigation and no further details about the incident will be released,” the release continued.

Local authorities are asking for help from the public in locating a missing/runaway juvenile last reported in western North Carolina.
According to information released Sunday afternoon, March 16 by the Kill Devil Hills Police Department, Christian Jenkins, 16, left his residence in Kill Devil Hills on Saturday, March 15 2025 at 3:11 p.m.
Jenkins is a white male, 5’11” tall and 120 lbs. with blonde hair, blue eyes and dental braces. He was last seen wearing khaki pants and a green T-shirt. He is driving a 2006 brown Ford F350 with North Carolina weighted truck registration plate VA7196. He is traveling with his dog, who is pictured with Jenkins in photos released by KDHPD.
“Christian’s truck was last seen in Haywood County, NC traveling west at about 10:45 this morning,” stated the news release from KDHPD issued early Sunday afternoon. Updated information from KDHPD stated that the vehicle was seen near Harriman, Tenn. at around 4:15 p.m. Sunday.
