In an effort to empower community members with life-saving skills, the Currituck Extension Center is hosting a free hands-only CPR class taught by Rachel Shaddeau, RN, MSN. The event will be held on April 14 at 10 a.m. at the Currituck Extension Center, located at 120 Community Way in Barco.
“This class will equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to respond effectively during a cardiac emergency,” stated a news release from Currituck Extension.
“Hands-only CPR is a simplified technique that focuses on chest compressions, making it easier for bystanders to provide immediate assistance to someone experiencing cardiac arrest,” the release continued. “Important Note: This class is designed to provide basic hands-only CPR training and is not a certification course. Participants will gain valuable knowledge and practical skills, but will not receive official CPR certification.”
There is no cost to attend, however those interested in attending are asked to register at currhandsonlycpr.eventbrite.com.
