Talented students from kindergarten through 12th grade throughout Dare County Schools are displaying their artwork April 8 to May 2 at the annual Dare County Schools Art Show. The exhibition, Unified Through Art, will be open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the meeting room in the Administrative building at Roanoke Island Festival Park.
The public is invited to tour the free exhibition and enjoy the creations of local K-12 art students throughout the county. A reception will be held April 11 from 5-7 p.m. in the meeting room.
“The talent and creativity of our local students is truly inspiring and speaks to the collaboration of our Dare County teachers with their students,” said Kim Sawyer, executive director at Roanoke Island Festival Park.
The show features an impressive variety of artistic mediums, including mixed media, paintings, graphic design, drawings, photography and sculptures. The annual show gives students an opportunity to try new techniques and showcase what they have learned throughout the year.
