Enroll in the only boat safety course taught by U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary certified instructors on the Outer Banks. No need to fumble with online self-taught courses. It’s one-and-done with this all-in-one-day classroom course. Learn what you need to pass the test for the North Carolina Boater Education Card. Additionally, there will practical learning from the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliarists who boat these local waters.
“The April class filled up in record time and is now closed! By popular demand, we opened another class for May 10th,” noted the course announcement.
Who needs to have this card? All North Carolina boaters who were born on or after January 1, 1988 who also operate a motorized watercraft of 10 HP or more. Those born before January 1, 1988 can still take the safety class, it’s just not required. “Safety is no accident,” notes the class announcement.
Why choose the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Boat America Safety Class? Attendees will get the required course material and exam all in one day, states the announcement. The material meets the North Carolina requirements and is taught by U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary certified instructors on the Outer Banks. The exam is same day, too. The NC Boater Education Card is valid for a lifetime.
When and where? Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Oregon Inlet Fishing Center, located at 8770 Oregon Inlet Road in Nags Head. The class will be held from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Cost: $30 covers all materials, exam, refreshments. Add family members at $25 each.
