Governor Josh Stein has appointed Tess Judge of Dare County to the North Carolina Board of Transportation. She will represent Division 1.
Judge’s career has been dedicated to hospitality management and development. She serves on the Outer Banks Hospital Board of Directors and is vice chair of the East Carolina University Health Foundation. She also serves on the Healthcare Task Force set up by the Town of Manteo and the Dare Community Housing Task Force. She has long participated in public service and charitable work within the community.
Judge attended an orientation session on Tuesday, April 1. Her swearing in ceremony was held at the April 3 meeting of the Board of Transportation, meeting in Raleigh. Accompanying her were two of her sons and a daughter-in-law. A grandson held the Bible during the ceremony.
Division 1 has 14 counties covering the northeastern corner of North Carolina. Those counties are Currituck, Chowan, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Chowan, Gates, Hertford, Northampton, Bertie, Martin, Washington, Tyrrell, Dare and Hyde.
