Dare commissioners made the following appointments in April:

Fessenden Center Advisory Board: Colby Ian O’Neal to a vacant seat.

Manns Harbor Marina Commission: reappointed Ladd Bayliss, Cyndy Holda, Jonathan Oglesby and Jessie (Troy) Outland.

On Monday, May 5, 2025, the commissioners will appoint or reappoint members to the following boards or commissions or councils:

Albemarle Commission – Northeastern Workforce Development Board

Albemarle Commission – Rural Planning Organization

Game & Wildlife Commission

Juvenile Crime Prevention Council

Veterans Advisory Council

Zoning Board of Adjustment

“The Dare County Board of Commissioners welcomes citizen participation on advisory boards and committees,” states the Dare County website, darenc.gov. “This type of grassroots public involvement is the foundation of democracy and a vital part of maintaining Dare County as a quality place to live.

“An ongoing list is available on this website showing the upcoming appointments to Dare County’s boards and committees as well as any vacancies that may exist.

“Applications for boards and committees are accepted on an ongoing basis and held for three years, at which time an updated application should be resubmitted. When vacancies arise, applicants are considered and appointments made at monthly Dare County Board of Commissioners meetings.

“After submitting an application for appointment, it will be provided to the board(s) or committee(s) you have an interest in serving on for their consideration. If you have any difficulties, call Skyler Foley, clerk to the Dare County Board of Commissioners at 252-475-5700 for assistance.”
