Edenton woman facing drug charge following traffic stop in Dare

An Edenton woman is facing a drug charge following a Dare County traffic stop.

According to a Dare County Sheriff’s Office news release, on April 21, 2025 at around 9:45 p.m., deputies assigned to the B-District conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling along U.S. Highway 64/264.

“During the course of the stop, deputies established probable cause to conduct a search of the vehicle. The search resulted in the discovery and seizure of a controlled substance,” stated the release. On the magistrate’s order, the substance was identified as ecstasy/MDMA.

Martha C. Bond, 22, of Edenton, was arrested and charged with felony possession of a schedule I controlled substance. She was released and issued a written promise to appear in court related to the charge, according to the release.
