Dare County Sheriff’s Office issues crime blotter

The Dare County Sheriff’s Office felony crime blotter has been issued for the month of April 2025 for the unincorporated areas of the county. It shows 10 felony offenses, five of which were on Hatteras Island. In Manns Harbor, a firearm was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
April 1: Breaking and Entering. 47000 block of Buxton Back Rd., Buxton. Suspect broke into victim’s residence as part of a domestic situation. Upon further investigation warrants were obtained. The suspect was arrested the following day.
April 2: Obtaining Property by False Pretenses. 57000 block of Lighthouse Rd., Hatteras. Contractor took $4,000 deposit and never started any of the agreed work. Under investigation.
April 5: Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle. 100 block of Ward Lane, Roanoke Island. Unlocked vehicle rifled through. Nothing missing.
April 9. Larceny of Motor Vehicle. 3000 block of Mill Landing Rd., Wanchese. A broken down vehicle removed from a property as part of a civil dispute. Under investigation.
April 11: Larceny. 39000 block of Island Creek Dr., Avon. Paddle board reported stolen from outside a rental house.
April 15: Larceny. 50000 block of Timber Trail, Frisco. E-bike reported stolen after it was left in the driveway to be picked up by a shipping company.
April 17: Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle. 7000 block of Shipyard Rd., Manns Harbor. Firearm stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
April 18: Breaking and Entering. 22000 block of NC12, Rodanthe. Condemned rental house broken into and vandalized. Under investigation.
April 23: Identity Theft. 100 block of Puddle Lane, Roanoke Island. After receiving a letter from a collection agency the victim discovered someone used his identity to pay school tuitions. Under investigation.
April 30: Larceny. 7000 block of 64/264 Hwy, Manns Harbor. Unauthorized transaction from victim’s bank account.
