Fireworks funding in Dare set

Three towns and a non-profit association are receiving July 4th fireworks grants from the Dare County Tourism Board.
Grant funds are used for the payment of contracted fireworks displays only. Grants are disbursed on a matching basis, not to exceed 50% of the actual contracted cost.
Dare County commissioners consented for the expenditures totaling $61,775 for the four grants.
The grants are awarded to:
Avon Property Owners Association: $14,875
Town of Kill Devil Hills: $12,400
Town of Manteo: $19,500
Town of Nags Head: $15,000
Diane Bognich, director of administration/grants coordinator for the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau, made the presentation at the April 7, 2025 meeting.
