James Harold “Hal” Denny died Thursday, April 10, 2025 in Gaithersburg, MD. He was born May 13, 1925 in Red House, KY. Hal was predeceased by his son, David Watson Denny and his grandson David Elliott Denny. He was a naval aviator, retired U.S. Navy Reserve Captain, business consultant, volunteer and loving family man.

Hal was the loving husband of Billie Sue Watson Denny; devoted father of James H. Denny II (wife, Fran), beloved father-in-law of Nancy Wylie; cherished grandfather of Bryan, Shannon, and Amy Lynn, and the loving great-grandfather of Eli and Quincy. Hal is also survived by his brother, William P. Denny (wife, Fiona) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Duck Church, Duck, NC on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Caring Hands Ministry, Duck Church, Duck, NC  27949.
