“What a time of celebration for Wanchese Christian Academy,” noted an announcement from the school of student accomplishments.

WCA’s third quarter Awards Chapel ignited with all things pertaining to science and history. “Mrs. Misty showing us why we should always wash our hands through a video/song presentation,” noted the announcement. “The images of basic germ and bacterial growth observed in petri dishes were amazingly disgusting.”

After A and AB Honors were acknowledged, fourth grade history class sang their way across all 50 states with capitals, followed by listing all U.S. presidents in order from Washington to Trump.

Next on the agenda was Principal Holly Strum presenting the awards for perfect attendance.

Sixth grade students showed off their knowledge of recognition of many European, African and Asian countries, accompanied by their capitals.

Following were a couple of students that showed off their 3-D mammal project by playing “guess who?” with the audience.

Third graders portrayed a shadow box of famous Americans.

After all accolades, the second grade concluded with a self-written skit of the California gold rush.

“This was a wonderful ceremony, but that is just the half of the event,” the announcement continued. The cafeteria was filled with all things history and science: planets, leaf projects, volcanoes, science news articles, simple machines, N.C. landmarks, family tree projects, historical quilts, maps and much more.

Students earning recognition for academics and attendance were:

A Honor Roll – Kali-Jo Beasley, Saylor Callum, Isla Corderio, Noah Corderio, Salter Corderio, Ryland Daniels, Andrew Godwin, Meri-Grace Maddox, Lexi Midgett, Joshua Pettit, Olivia Pettit, Reef Roche, Elly Simpson, Jace Simpson, Bobby Strum and Mary Grace Strum.

A/B Honor Roll – Kennedy Daniels, Mazie Dolan, Lilly Hooper, Zoey Ross, Alex Stevens, Anabelle Stevens, Gina Stevens and Penelope Wells

Perfect Attendance – Franklin Ralph, Gina Stevenson, Lexi Midgett, Mary Grace Strum, Olivia Pettit and Vela Grace Ethridge
