“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” — Isaiah 43:19 (NIV)
This time of year bursts with life and excitement. Proud parents celebrate graduations, prom photos are framed by blooming azaleas, wedding invitations arrive with promises of forever, and plans for summer camps and family vacations fill our calendars. It is a season of transition, hope, and happiness — a beautiful reminder that God is always at work, bringing new beginnings into our lives.
In the busyness of celebrations and preparations, it’s easy to rush from one event to the next. Yet, spring invites us to pause and recognize the deeper meaning behind these rituals. They are not just milestones; they are moments of God’s faithfulness — evidence of His presence in every season of our lives.
As you celebrate or plan during this vibrant time, take a moment to reflect on what God is growing in your own heart. Just as flowers bloom and children step into new chapters, so too is God inviting you into fresh beginnings. Trust Him with your plans, your hopes, and your future, knowing that He delights in the joy and renewal this season brings. “Wherever life plants you, bloom with grace.” — French Proverb
Betsy Ore Glass has long-standing ties to the Outer Banks. From Virginia Beach, her family bought a vacation cottage in the 60s and her love of the area began. Later in the 90s, Betsy and her husband bought a weekend cottage and introduced the area to their children. Then Betsy’s parents retired to KDH where the family gathered often.
