Cape Hatteras Secondary scholars in the Class of 2025 were feted for participation in sports, band and drama at a banquet sponsored by the school’s Booster Club.

After dinner, Danny Couch, a 1978 graduate of Cape Hatteras School, told the crowd that his basketball teams never beat Manteo and never had a winning season. He had four different coaches, two were good, two were sad, he remembered.

“People are watching you,” he said. “You represented us well.”
