Martha Haddock Haberstumpf passed away on June 9, 2025, at the age of 81. She was born in Nassawadox, Virginia, on December 29, 1943, to the Reverend Doctor William Kenneth Haddock and Frances Williams Haddock. She also shared a wonderful relationship with her stepmother, Frances Belman Haddock. All three, along with her brother, William Kenneth “Kenney” Haddock, preceded her in death.
Martha called Manteo, North Carolina, home from 1972 until 2016 when she and her loving husband of 25 years, Randy Haberstumpf, who survives her, moved to Graham, North Carolina, to be closer to family. Martha was a member of Liberty Christian Fellowship in Kill Devil Hills, NC, where her faith remained an important part of her life.
Martha is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Haddock Monfalcone of Richmond, VA; daughters Becky Boush of St. Matthews, SC, Anne Million (Jim) of Fort Collins, CO, and Kathryn Westcott (Michael) of Snow Camp, NC; grandchildren Jenny Jones (Chandler), Tori Robinson (Andrew), Courtney Westcott, Christopher Westcott, and Cooper Westcott; and great-grandchildren Harper and Hampton Jones. She also leaves behind a niece, Jolie Ray Holmes (John), and a nephew, John Ray (Lisa), as well as many cousins with whom she shared close bonds and fond memories.
A Homegoing Celebration will be held on July 9, 2025, at 6 p.m. at Bicentennial Park on the Waterfront in Manteo, NC. The service will be led by Pastor Scott Hobbs and Pastor Katherine Harding Hopkins of Liberty Christian Fellowship. In honor of Martha’s love for gardening and beautiful blooms, guests are encouraged to bring a flower to toss into Shallowbag Bay at the close of the service.
In lieu of flowers at the service, please consider a gift in her memory to Liberty Christian Fellowship or the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
