January Dare County Sheriff’s blotter released

Dare County Sheriff’s Blotter for Jan 1 through 31 has been released. The blotter covers felony crimes in unincorporated areas of Dare County.

In this report, seven crimes are reported on Roanoke Island, six on Hatteras Island, two in Colington and one in Manns Harbor.

In Avon, a perpetrator broke into a home and terrorized the occupants. In Salvo, a vehicle was stolen and found wrecked. In another incident in Avon, EMS equipment was stolen.

Jan. 4: Obtaining Property by False Pretenses. 100 block of Watersedge Dr., Colington. Lending scam.

Jan. 5: Breaking and Entering and Larceny. 40000 block of Marlin Dr., Avon. Household items stolen and recovered.

Breaking and Entering of Motor Vehicle. 40000 block of NC 12, Avon. Household items stolen and recovered.

Jan. 7: Breaking and Entering. 7000 block of 64/264 Hwy., Manns Harbor. Nothing stolen.

Obtaining Property by False Pretenses. 300 block of Bideford Street, Roanoke Island. Government grant scam.

Jan. 9: Breaking and Entering with Intent to Terrorize. 41000 block of NC 12, Avon. Subject broke and entered residence and terrorized occupants.

Jan. 10: Breaking and Entering of Motor Vehicle. 300 block of Colington Dr., Colington. Nothing stolen.

Jan. 11: Breaking and Entering and Larceny. 100 block of Candela Dr., Roanoke Island. Tools and duck decoys stolen.

Jan. 12: Larceny of Motor Vehicle. 26000 block of Cutlass Lane, Salvo. Vehicle reported stolen, found wrecked nearby.

Jan. 16: Breaking and Entering and Larceny. 52000 block of Mare Vista Drive, Frisco. Tools stolen.

Jan. 21: Breaking and Entering of Motor Vehicle. 100 block of Carolina Ct. W, Roanoke Island. Nothing stolen.

Jan. 22: Breaking and Entering of Motor Vehicle. 800 block of Francis Drake St., Roanoke Island. Wallet stolen and recovered.

Jan. 23: Breaking and Entering of Motor Vehicle. 40000 block of Leslie Lane, Avon. EMS equipment stolen.
