OBX Boat Company gains ABYC certification

OBX Boat Company has announced that Doug Milner, co-owner at the company, recently earned certification in Marine Standards from the American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC).

The American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC), a non-profit member organization, develops global safety standards for recreational boats and enhances industry professionalism through marine service certification.

The ABYC Marine Standards consists of a comprehensive set of safety-related standards covering electrical, fuel, ventilation, fire safety, corrosion protection and other critical systems. Certification requires completing an extensive training curriculum along with rigorous testing, noted the announcement of the certification.

“OBX Boat Company is committed to providing a better boat buying and ownership experience for our customers,” said Blake Milner, co-owner and general manager at the company. “Our focus on training, certification and expanding upon our elite Yamaha Master Technician status are important elements of delivering on that promise.”

Tim Murphy, ABYC education director, commended Doug Milner and OBX Boat Company: “Congratulations to Doug on achieving certification in the ABYC Marine Standards and to OBX Boat Company their commitment to the advancement of their teams’ skills.”
