Virginia man arrested on drug, other charges following Kill Devil Hills crash

The Dare County Sheriff’s Office has reported on the arrest of a Virginia man on drug and other charges following a crash in Kill Devil Hills.

According to a DCSO news release, on January 11, 2025 at around 8:43 p.m., deputies working in A-district responded to a traffic crash on Baum Bay near Colington Rd.

“Upon investigation, probable cause was established to conduct a search, resulting in a seizure of an amount of Cocaine,” stated the release.

David R. Moore, 52, of Virginia Beach, Va., was arrested and charged with felony possession of cocaine, misdemeanor driving while impaired and misdemeanor driving while license revoked not impaired revocation. Moore was issued a $7,000 secured bond related to the charges.

The Kill Devil Hills Police Department assisted in the investigation.
