William “Bill” Ernst, Jr.

William “Bill” Ernst, Jr., 100, of Summerville, husband of Ina Evans Ernst of Kill Devil Hills, passed away on Wednesday, October 17 at The Village of Summerville.

Services will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dorchester Paws, 136 4 Paws Ln, Summerville, SC 29483.

Bill was born on November 14, 1917 in Kansas City, KS, son of the late William and Ethel Ernst. He received his Master’s Degree in Forestry from Colorado State University. He was a member of Stallsville United Methodist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved being outside.

Survivors including his wife Ina are: two daughters: Carol Ann Mehaffy (John) of Longmont, Colo. and Betty Jo Ernst of Summerville; two grandsons: Jason Weinland (Kelli) of Shreveport, La. and Nathan Weinland (Clories) Fort Collins, Colo.; four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife: Lucy Jo Ernst and one son: Malcom Ernst.
