Chamber honors Outer Banks women

The Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce and title sponsor Towne Insurance celebrated Women of the Outer Banks, a luncheon event and dessert auction on Friday, March 8 – International Women’s Day – at Basnight’s Lone Cedar Café.

Five local Outer Banks Women were honored at the event: Sandy Kinzel – assistant superintendent, DareCounty Schools, Jennie Turner – planner with Currituck County, Brandy Rheubottom – director of Dare County Older Adult Services, Monica Thibodeaux – mayor pro tem for Duck and Beth Midgett, vacation rental management professional with Midgett Realty.

The dessert auction, with special guest auctioneer Lisa Brickhouse Davis, owner of LBD Voiceworks and DJ with Jam Media Solutions, included desserts from Outer Banks Brewing Station, Black Pelican Restaurant, The Salt Box Café, Ten O Six, Kill Devil Grill,  Basnight’s Lone Cedar Café, Outer Banks Frozen Yogurt, Sam & Omie’s, pastry chef Rebecca Miller, pastry chef Deborah Karfs, Sand Trap Tavern, Ship Wreck Taphouse and Grill, Publix and Rooster’s Southern Kitchen.
