Beach access ramps closed in Currituck

Late afternoon Monday, March 5, Currituck County announced that all public beach access ramps in the County will remain temporarily closed. The closure will allow county staff to continue performing safety assessments due to storm damage following the weekend’s severe weather. Some of the ramps may need to be repaired and/or have sand removed from blocking the walkways before they are reopened to the public. A more definite timeframe will be announced upon completion of the assessment.

Citizens are also advised to use extreme caution when walking on the beach due to the presence of storm debris. As a safety precaution, do not let children play on or around debris and everyone should be careful of beach debris when barefoot.
