Used tire pick-up set for Columbia, April 18 and 19

The Town of Columbia has scheduled a used tire collection for residents of the Town of Columbia, Wednesday and Thursday, April 18 and 19. Residents should have all old tires stacked at the sidewalk or street side for pick up on those dates.

Tires must be off the rims and free of debris and water. Tires will be picked up by town staff and transported to the Tyrrell County Solid Waste Collection Site for disposal. There Tyrrell County employees will handle the proper disposal of the tires.

Any tires still on the rims or tires that contain dirt or other debris cannot be picked up.

Town officials are asking all residents to, “help us clean up unsightly tires and eliminate a favorite breeding source for mosquitoes during this special clean-up effort.
