PLYMOUTH, NC – Fred Hurst Humphreys, 91, of Plymouth died Sunday, April 8. Born May 17, 1926 in Richwood, West Virginia he was the son of the late Fray Humphreys and Janet Ann Jardine Humphreys and was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Alexander Humphreys; son, Kimberly H. Humphreys; sister, Alice Hopkins; brothers, Victor Humphreys, Frank Humphreys and Fray Humphreys. Fred was a retired paper maker with Weyerhaeuser Corporation, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and member of First Baptist Church.

His family includes his daughter, Karen Humphreys Rose and husband Wayne of Roper; sister, Dorothy Humphreys Spencer of Plymouth; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends at the graveside following the service. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home.
