Sarah Jackson Snell, 86, of Plymouth died Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. 

Born December 15, 1931 in Washington County she was the daughter of the late John Herman Jackson, Sr. and Verna Hardison Jackson and was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Clinton Snell; sister, Martha J. Hayes; brothers, John H. Jackson, Jr. (Jack) and Ottis L. Jackson. Sarah was a member of the Food Service Staff at Lawrence Academy and later was the owner of the Youth Junction Children’s Shop and was a member of Plymouth Church of Christ. 

Her family includes her daughter, Teresa S. Atkins and husband Vaughan of Midlothian, Virginia; sons, Joseph Randall Snell and wife Mary of Jamesville, Jeffrey Thomas Snell and wife Pat of Washington, and Dr. Phillip Warren Snell and wife Paula of Portland, Oregon; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. 

Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth. Burial will follow in Windley Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 2:00 to 2:30 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home prior to the service.
