Smoke alarm canvass set for KDH

Kill Devil Hills Fire Department firefighters are participating in a statewide smoke alarm door-to-door canvass, set for Saturday, June 23.
The canvass, scheduled to start around 9 a.m., is to concentrate on the Avalon neighborhood in the town.
The statewide canvass organized by State Fire Marshal Mike Causey comes after 91 fire deaths in North Carolina to date.
