The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood advisory for areas north of Cape Hatteras today.
Long-period swells from the remnants of Hurricane Beryl combined with high astronomical tides will continue to bring a risk of strong rip currents today. Minor coastal flooding is possible for areas adjacent to the ocean north of Cape Hatteras during high tide this evening.
The flood advisory is in effect from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
A beach hazards statement remains in effect through this evening for a continued risk of rip currents.
