Mary Frances Forbes Gallop

Mary Frances Forbes Gallop, 87, of Wanchese, died Friday, July 27, 2018, at the Currituck House.

A native of Wanchese, she was born Oct. 25, 1930, to the late Mary Ward Forbes and Eastman Forbes.

Mary was a talented seamstress who enjoyed cooking and gardening and especially loved to bake wedding cakes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Erbe Oswald Gallop; and a brother, Eastman Z. Forbes.

Mary is survived by two sisters, Tessie F. Clark of Chesapeake, Virginia and Ruth F. Tillett of Hampton, Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews she loved dearly.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Twiford Colony Chapel with the Rev. David Stowe officiating. Burial will follow at Cudworth Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service.
