Doris Evangeline Blackman, 82, passed away in Norfolk, Va. October 7 of natural causes. She was born in Middlesex County, New Jersey.

Doris was highly educated and well-traveled. She worked in education most of her life. In her later years she cherished her solitude, her books and her home.

She is survived by her beloved children and their families, including eight grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends.

In accordance with her wishes for simplicity and privacy, she will be cremated and no memorial services are planned.
